LAWA company history

LAWA started as a small company canteen in Neuhausen in October 1991. In addition to conventional food products, we also manufactured Bohemian-style Hefeknödel dumplings upon request for the dining industry. Requests that would soon become part of the company’s very essence.

12/1991

Company canteen closed by the trust.

01/1992

Production resumes at a small bakery (60 sq m) with just two staff members, specialising in Bohemian-style dumplings. The equipment largely consists of self-built or converted used machinery. A direct-marketing system is set up with the help of independent marketers.

08/1992

LAWA Hefeknödelspezialitäten GmbH founded in Olbernhau. Commencement of production of long-life deep-frozen and chilled products.

1997

First products listed at large food-retailing companies. Production area expanded to 2,300 sq m.

1998

Factory built for the production of fresh and deep-frozen egg pancakes, crêpes and omelettes, with a production area of 2,250 sq m.

2003/2004

The production area grows to 5,400 sq m. LAWA also starts up a new production line.

2006

The company receives its first IFS certification – “International Food Standard – higher level” and has been re-endorsed for this annually since 2006.

2008

Production line for dumplings further expanded.

2009

Expansion of the production area and start-up of two production lines for fresh dough.

2011

Deep-frozen product range launched for food retailing.

2015

Establishment of a new production facility with a total area of 2,000 sq m, and a dry and deep-frozen warehouse with a storage capacity for 1,500 pallets. A 6th production line is also started up for egg pancakes.

2018

1,200-sq-m expansion of the production and warehouse capacities for Hefeknödel specialities, Quarkkäulchen and fresh ready-prepared dough. Warehouse capacities increased by a further 1,000 storage bays.
