About us

Simple. Tasty. LAWA – Gourmet treats from the Ore Mountains!

Good food, prepared quickly and easily in top quality – that’s what LAWA products stand for. It all began in 1991 with a company idea at a small bakery specialising in Bohemian-style Hefeknödel dumplings in the Saxon town of Neuhausen. Customers were quickly hooked – and a move to a larger production facility in Olbernhau saw staff soon further their delicious core competencies and focus on manufacturing flour-based deep-frozen and chilled dishes and sides.

The tiny dumpling business, with its five employees, grew to become the LAWA group, which now has 180 staff. A success story baked from an extensive product range, continuous product development catering to customer needs, and a state-of-the-art production facility with well trained specialists.

From pancakes to dough, our products today impress more than just large-scale canteens and the dining industry. They’re also improving the options available for fast, fresh home-cooked meals. Customers can find the extensive range in the chilled and deep-frozen section of their supermarkets. Whether it be Germknödel, Hefeklösse, Dampfnudeln, pancakes or Saxon Quarkkäulchen, we’ve got them all covered for fast, easy at-home preparation in a pan, pot or microwave.

LAWA: The best ingredients for ultimate enjoyment.

Our products are made from controlled, largely locally grown ingredients. When selecting them, we place great emphasis on top quality. And we use state-of-the-art manufacturing technology to ensure these are processed carefully. Because only the best ingredients and expert hands can produce premium products.

Certified quality you can rely on.

LAWA conducts its own strict checks, and undergoes regular quality controls. In addition to independent in-house testing, we also have our products frequently inspected at independent laboratories. And these consistently confirm the fact that only products of flawless quality leave our facility – one of the reasons for which we have been awarded IFS (International Food Standard) certification and numerous other distinctions from the DLG (German Agricultural Society).
