Training
LAWA Hefeknödelspezialitäten GmbH is a state-of-the-art food company and an appetising employer. Founded in the idyllic Saxon town of Olbernhau in 1992, we now have a team of more than 180 staff working for us. They use modern machinery and innovative processes to manufacture high-quality steamed and baked products, such as Hefeklösse yeast dumplings and pancakes. These are incredible popular in Germany, and now other countries have also acquired a taste for LAWA. In any case, we export our 20 percent of our products to other countries around Europe.
To ensure this continues in future, we’re looking for dedicated young professionals – and thus trainees like you! You’ll need a good Realschulabschluss (intermediate secondary school leaving certificate) and a keen interest in handling food. Whether it be in product manufacturing or packaging, or working in our complex logistics department, we’re looking for talented, responsible team players with an awareness of quality.

We offer our trainees creative, diverse and future-oriented prospects. And we also provide grants for educational opportunities outside of the traineeship, such as quality-management training or forklift licences. After completing your traineeship, you can expect to embark on an exciting career with an attractive employer.
The dual training system takes a total of three years, and is split into in-house training and classes at the vocational school in Dresden, with 4 x 3 teaching blocks a week.
LAWA offers the following recognised trades:
- Food technology specialist
- Machine and systems operator (specialising in food technology)
- Warehouse logistics specialist
- Co-operative education course in food safety
Anyone wanting to get a feel for us beforehand is welcome to do so as part of an internship – and then get started successfully! You can expect a dynamic team, a good social environment and performance-based remuneration.
