Germknödel dumplings with cherry filling

You don’t need to climb up a tree to enjoy light and fruity cherries, nor do you have to set aside long hours in the kitchen to make deliciously fruity Germknödel dumplings. LAWA’s Germknödel with cherry filling are quick and easy to prepare, and taste like a summer delight baked by grandma.

Moisten the Germknödel all over with water, cover them, and heat in the microwave at 600 W.

Cooking time:
1 piece: 1 min
3 pieces: 2 min.
5 pieces: 3 min.

Follow the appliance manufacturer’s instructions.


We recommend preparing these in a cooking pot. Place the Germknödel dumplings in a sieve, place the sieve over a pot of approx. 250 ml boiling water, close the pot and leave to steam for approx. 10 min. Ensure the dumplings never come into direct contact with the water.


Germknödel: WHEAT FLOUR, water, sugar, WHEAT STARCH, yeast, margarine (palm oil, water, rapeseed oil, emulsifiers [sunflower lecithin, mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids], salt, acidifier [citric acid]), WHOLE MILK POWDER, salt, WHOLE EGG POWDER, flavouring.

Filling (20%): Sour cherries (60%), sugar, dried glucose, fructose, water, modified starch, thickener (agar-agar), gelling agent (pectin), acidifier (citric acid).
