Marinated braised beef with bread dumplings
Ingredients for 4 people:
- LAWA bread dumplings
- 500 g beef
- 4 cloves
- 2 bay leaves
- ½ gingerbread
- 2 onions
- Sunflower oil
- 1 L water
- Preparing the meat
Dice the onions and sauté in a pot of oil and butter. Season the meat with salt, pepper and sugar, add to the onions, sear the entire mixture, then deglaze with water. Add the cloves, a dash of vinegar and the bay leaf, and leave it all to reduce for at least 50 minutes. Remove the meat, run the sauce through a sieve, bring the entire mixture to the boil again, and bind with the gingerbread. Season to taste if necessary with salt, pepper, another dash of vinegar and a pinch of sugar.
- Preparing the bread dumplings
Place a sieve over a pot filled approx. 1/3 with boiling water. Place the bread dumplings in the sieve without them touching the water, and leave to steam in the closed pot for approx. 5 minutes.
Serve with red cabbage if desired.
